Trust us. It was the only name that made sense!
If you’ve ever muttered this phrase under your breath while duct-taping something that should definitely not be held together with duct tape… welcome. You’re our people.
“We’re Fine. Everything Is Fine.” is more than just the name of our blog – it’s our household mantra. It gets said a lot around here. Like, a lot a lot. When the tire pressure sensor won’t stop beeping, when we’re navigating a 40-foot Super C into a spot clearly designed for a Prius, when the dogs won’t stop barking at a leaf that fell from a nearby tree… we take a deep breath and say it: We’re fine. Everything is fine.
It’s our way of defusing chaos with a little humor. A reminder not to take ourselves too seriously, even when everything around us seems to be on fire. (Metaphorically. At least, so far.)
Last Christmas, I even got Hutch a tiny emotional support dumpster fire toy for his stocking. It lives in the RV now, riding shotgun through every pothole and wrong turn. It’s become a symbol of our ability to laugh in the face of life’s absurdity.
But beyond the chaos-management mantra, the name took on a second meaning when we decided to go full-time. Since we started talking publicly about selling the houses and hitting the road, we’ve been met with a mix of high-fives and hesitant head-tilts. People mean well, but we’ve heard everything from “That sounds amazing!” to “But what will you do if it rains?” (Um… put the awning in?)
At some point, we realized we were spending way too much energy justifying our choice. Why are we doing this? Is it safe? Are we sure we know what we’re doing? (Short answers: Because we want to. Probably. Not even a little.)
So the name is also a little wink to the skeptics. A gentle nudge that, yes, we know this lifestyle isn’t for everyone. But we’re not doing it for everyone. We’re doing it for us. And guess what? We’re fine. Everything is fine.
