Timing really is everything. Ever since we started seriously considering RV life, things just kept falling into place. We took it as a sign: this lifestyle might actually be meant for us. You ever get that feeling?
Once we decided to move forward, hitting up an RV show felt like the natural next step. It seemed like the perfect way to explore different RV types and layouts. We were especially curious about Super C RVs. They’d made it to the top of our wishlist after lots of research. Still, we wanted to stay open-minded. Who knows what hidden gem we might discover during our rv show experience?
Thanks to YouTube and good ol’ Google, we found out there are two major RV shows each year. One is in Tampa (super convenient since we live in St. Pete), but it happens in January – and we had just missed it. Womp womp. The other big one? It’s in Hershey, PA every September.
Luckily, we found a smaller summer RV show happening at the Florida State Fairgrounds – just two weeks away! It felt like fate.
I grabbed a sun hat (because Florida sun + fair skin = danger zone), we hopped in the MINI, and hit the road. Bonus: Hutch got a veteran discount at the entrance. Always a win.
The mission for the day was to compare Super C models with some fifth-wheel RVs. But get this: there was only one Super C at the entire show! One. Out of what felt like hundreds of RVs. Total bummer.
Even so, it turned out to be a valuable RV show experience. We wandered through different models, got to experience lots of different layouts, and made plenty of mental notes of what we liked (and didn’t). I also found myself eyeing those massive fifth wheels with double porches and outdoor bars. Fancy, right? Alas, they’re not meant for us, at least not right now.
Since our visit to the show ended up being quicker than we expected, we made a spontaneous stop at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Hutch cashed in some reward points, and we each demolished a few plates from the buffet. Best part of the day? Sampling every single pastry option they had. Zero regrets.
So what’s next on our RV journey? A dealership visit. Stay tuned!
